Das ursprünglich für April 2012 geplante MMO The Secret World wird laut einer aktuellen Pressemitteilung des Entwicklerteams von Funcom erst am 19.06.2012 erscheinen. Die Entwickler wollen die zusätzliche Zeit nutzen, um den Feinschliff zu verbessern. Und es wird in Kürze eine offene Betaphase geben. Dies hat Creative Director und Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist angekündigt:

Allowing for even more time to polish the game really shows just how much faith Funcom as a company has in ‘The Secret World" and how committed we are to making it the best it can be. The additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch.
Bei The Secret World handelt es sich um ein in der Gegenwart angesiedeltes MMO in einer Zombie- und Dämonenwelt. Zu Beginn muss sich der Spieler für einen der drei Geheimbünde - Illuminati, Templer und Dragon - entscheiden, danach kann der eigene Charakter ohne Klassen- und Levelrestriktionen weiter entwickelt werden.
